Oh for God's sake

Kenyan ecologist Wangari Maathai has just won the Nobel Peace Prize, and subsequently lost her mind. Kevin Aylward of Wizbang, from whom I lifted this story, points out that after the Nobel committee gave the Peace Prize to Yasser Arafat, they had nowhere to go but up. Or so you'd think. Maathai has definitely done wonderful things for Kenya and Africa, and the US has certainly made mistakes, but I'm starting to wonder how much of the global anti-Americanism we've seen in the last decade can be pinned on US foreign policy mistakes, and how much can be attributed to virulent attitudes among European elites.

One of the things I've noticed about Islamic Terror is that the real bigwigs, the OBLs and Mohammed Attas, were European-educated, and became the monsters they are today after attending university there. Sure seems like Europe and the UN have long since been going out of their way to see Nazi Germany when they look at us, and spreading the word around the globe. And John Kerry can't stop pandering to these very people. What a President he'd make . . .
