We lost my favorite pet ever last year, Patton the cat. He disappeared one day and never came back. There are many possible explanations for this, since he was an indoor-outdoor cat who loved people and their houses, and climbed into UPS trucks regularly, but I choose to believe he was catnapped by some neighbors who moved the day he disappeared (they moved out of state). We miss you, Patty, especially the dogs.
Actually, especially me. I think about him all the time. He'd accompany us on walks down the block, greeting neighbors and their pets along the way. I'm afraid to get another cat because I can't imagine not being disappointed by comparison. Sigh.
