Brutality

I didn't see much of the Winter Olympics, but the announcing seemed odd and not very good when I did catch some of it, and there seemed to be a lot more curling than I would have expected, so I guess this excellent review of NBC's coverage isn't undeservedly harsh. It sure is accurate.

I am always excited when its time for the Olympics. I continually become dissapointed every go around since it is the same old crap...A lot of ice skating with bizzare and extremly subjective voting behaviors and the typical skiing events. I do enjoy the downhill. This year I felt there was better coverage of other events such as the bobsled, luge and skeleton, speed skating, snowboarding, etc. I would definitely like to see more of the not so mainstream events on primetime instead of at 2am such as curling, biathalon, cross country skiing, global snowball fight, yellow snowcone eating contest, and ice statue posing. Let us not forget the freezing water ice plunge pebble retrieve which follows the sub-zero Struvogel contest.
